Islam continues today to motivate, mobilize and encompass the lives of
more than 1.2 Billion people on earth. Islam is the fastest growing religion
in the US and the World. However, misconceptions, stereotypes and almost
ignorance are still big parts of the perception about Islam.
Ashraf Youssef, MD, PhD draws on his unique
background, as an intellectual and a scientist who spent half of his adult
life in the Middle East, and more than a decade living in the USA, mainly in
the Midwest.
He provides a
digest understanding of the basic tenets of the faith, influence of of this
religion on its follower’s daily life, art and science. He describes the
similarities between Islam and the Judo-Christian tradition. He explains the
demographics, political and social forces in the Islam and how it impacts
the USA.

(45 min +Q &A)+ PowerPoint presentation PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The tragedy of September 11, 2001 created confusion and anger about the
role of self-labeled Islamic terrorists. But there is no legitimate
connection between Islam and terrorism. Muslims across the world agree that
the precepts and teachings of Islam not only do not support a connection
with terrorism, but are closely aligned with the precepts and teachings of
both Christianity and Judaism.
